I started painting on silk in the late 80’s. Working with this technique was like finding a new home. I am able to express design, drawing, and painting in harmony. These were mostly used as textiles for home furnishings and fashion. Then the originals were stretched and shown as paintings.
Currently, I have been combining my etchings into the designs.
I've always been enraptured by European cathedrals. I render them from life, sketches, and photos.
I use all mediums: silk painting, mono print, silk screen, etching and painting to try to describe the spiritual glory which is the cathedral. My subject is challenging and calming.

Etching is a printmaking process which uses acid to engrave the uncovered lines on a copper plate, which in turn creates a line drawing. One can use this plate to print multiples of the image.
My prints are comprised of imaginary characters set against various mythical backdrops. Each figure and their actions are metaphors for specific experiences. Regardless of my combination of sources, the essence of the plate is singularly personal. Classic etching techniques are employed, as well as a combination of etching and mixed media.
My new work is an amalgamation of hand painted silk design, various printmaking techniques and most recently some computer alteration.
As a printmaker the fusion of computer and traditional printmaking Is altering process and outcome.
I am on a precipice of surprising discoveries, A renaissance.
